Sleep on Your Left Side

Sleeping on your right side worsens heartburn. People who sleep on their right side suffer reflux for longer periods than people who sleep on their left side. Left-side sleeping may keep the junction between the stomach and esophagus above the level of gastric acid, reducing heartburn symptoms.

Also helpful: If you have heartburn, sleep on an incline so that gravity helps keep stomach contents in place.
